I want to customize the application It is possible to customize just about all aspects of this application, such as the size, color and text on the forms and the displayed results. This customization should only be performed if you are familiar and confident with using Xara Modules. Some operations such as customizing the Forms and Report Modules are easy and reasonably safe. It is better for other more advanced customization options to be carried out by a Xara Modules expert. Note: The following information is for advanced users of the Xara Module system. We cannot take any responsibility for the application failing if you modify any of the Modules that make up the application. The Auto Sales Database application structure This application is made from various Xara Modules that you can find within the 'Auto Sales Database' folder of your Module Store. In the Modules sub-folder there are further folders that represent each of the parts of the application. For instance in the 'Add an auto' folder you can find the Form Module and the Database Module (where the car records are stored). You can edit either Module by simply clicking on them. So to customize the 'Add an auto' form just click on the Module and then use the online form editor to change it as required. To customize the displayed results requires the appropriate Report Modules to be customized. For example, in the 'Basic search' folder there is a Module called 'Search Results' which can be customized to alter the format of the search results of the basic search. For example you can alter the colors and font sizes quite easily (and this is quite safe). More advanced customization such as adding new fields into the database requires a knowledge of the Xara Module connection system. Back to introduction index
